About me
I’m a visual storyteller. I spent 25+ years as the Director of Information Graphics at various large news organizations, including The Associated Press and Newsweek magazine. As an information designer and artist, my mission is to visually simplify, or “laymanize,” complex topics so that people can more easily comprehend them.
I was the Director of Information Graphics at Newsweek for nearly a decade before moving to Michigan State University where I currently teach courses in information graphics and visual communication in the School of Journalism at Michigan State University and college-wide courses on the creative process and social media marketing in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences . I am also a consultant on these topics.
